Summer Wine Brewing Co. Hi-Ratio Nelson (4.9%)

When I was first starting up CAMRGB, Summer Wine were one of my favourite breweries, they were also friendly to talk to.
Somehow I’ve managed not to have any beer by them for a few years now, and sitting here with this pint sized can of joy I’m seriously wondering why I’ve let them slip off my radar.
Hi-Ratio is a Nelson Sauvin and Motueka heavy IPA and it absolutely sings.
The pale gold beer smells of green grapes and passion flowers, and taking a swig you’re met by a big fresh blast of gooseberries and grapes, kiwi, mango, lemon zest and lime leaves.
It’s bright and bitter and underpinned by subtle brown sugar and brioche, honey and shortcake from the soft malting.
Welcome back into my life Summer Wine.
