Tempest Brewing Co. Tangerine Porter (7%)

I really like the team at Tempest.
They’re friendly and they’re cool, but mainly they make fabulous beer and this, a Porter brewed with Tangerines and a few festive spices, is yet another example.
Pouring a deep purple brown with a little cappuccino head, the aroma is tangerine and sandalwood, and taking a mouthful you find cinnamon and star anise, chocolate, coffee and toffee bagels from the mix of malts and spices, and a slap of lemon zest and pithy green foliage from the hops.
And then in comes the tangerine zest with a super fresh zingy splash of fruity colour that adds a bright zap to the rich chocolate finish.
