Well now, this is a great big fruity monster.
It pours an innocent looking pale gold with a little fluffy head, but the smell that rises up to you as you get close to your glass is hefty with a damp and sticky canned peach syrup.
That should be a warning to you, but it isn’t enough you stop you taking a swig, and when you do those tinned peaches are front and centre, and what’s more they’re absolutely sozzled.
There’s a big fizzy sherbet lemon hit as well, and the malting is round and chewy and packed with caramel and shortcake, honey and brown bread crusts.
All of this is powered along by an enormous hit of Apple liqueur.
Captain Insano is super, but don’t expect too much in the way of your usual IPA bitterness as this is all about sweet shop sugar coated booze.
