Uiltje’s Imperial IPA is an absolute beast.
It jumps from its can a deep amber and smells of toffee and booze doused soft fruit, and taking a swig you find it’s thick and smooth and absolutely heaving under the weight of its malt, all brown sugar and bran flakes, honey, toffee and pancakes.
This is boosted and pushed along by a chest warming brandy booze whose round sweetness only serves to make the hops feel even more bitter, even more sharp than they might otherwise be.
There’s a fistful of bracken and hazel leaves, resinous pine sap, sherbet lemons, orange marmalade, and dry and steely herbal leaves.
Dr. Raptor is a fabulous thing.
