For their Bagel Beer, Canopy have teamed up with the New York Bakery Co., using their waste bagels in the brew.
They’ve also used a heap of specialist malts and a pinch of cinnamon to create a rather drinkable Amber Ale.
The beer pours a rich gold with a tiny little head and smells of spiced peaches and toffee apples, and taking a swig you find a big round malt heart, all digestive biscuits, runny honey, salted praline, raisins and, unsurprisingly, chewy bagels.
The hopping is a crunchy woodland affair, with crisp autumnal leaves, mango flesh and a herbal hedgerow tang that is flecked with earthy cinnamon.
I like this a lot.
