This is a more than decent Red Ale brewed with a load of rye for added meatiness.
The beer pours a deep ruby red with a little fuzzy head and smells of toffee apples and peaches.
There’s a great big chewy malt body packed with treacle and shortbread, pumpernickel, honey and brown bread, while the hopping brings rolling tobacco, hazel leaves, hedgerow foliage, lemon zest and gala melon to the party.
In the finish the beer is soft and warm and satisfying.
I drank it while listening to the classic indie pop of Biff Bang Pow!, and you should too.
