Brewed in collaboration with Dry & Bitter and beautifully packaged, I really wanted this to be as good as it promised.
But for me, this is one of those Session IPAs that promises far more than it can deliver.
And it’s all about the body.
The hops – Cryo Citra, Ekuanot, Mosaic and Simcoe – make the beer smell like a big fresh fruit bowl, and there’s a a decent hit of peaches and tobacco, melon and tangerine when you take a swig.
But the malting is so limp and weedy that the beer has a great big watery hole exactly where its heart should be.
It leaves the beer feeling thin and irrelevant, and very disappointing given its promises.
I couldn’t even finish it.
