Big Eagle, Brew York’s American style IPA is well made and drinkable.
There’s a light sticky resinous edge to the lemon curd aroma and the beer pours a bright gold with a little foamy head.
That resinous wordiness turns up in the flavour as well, sticky and gluey, it binds the lemon zest and lime leaves, marmalade and herbs of the hopping to the soft caramel brioche and honey coated shortcake of the malts.
All this and there’s a good sharp bitterness to the sherbet finish that I like very much.
