There are some lovely things going on in this beer, from the fruit salad smell to the sticky toffee pancake, honey and wafers of the malting.
From the warm amber of the beer in my glass to the Fruit Salad chewy sweets, lemon sherbet, zesty lime peel and steely herbal leaves of the hops, Tropical Rubicon Courage, warmed through by an alcohol haze that hints of whisky, should be brilliant.
But this bottle at least is nowhere near fizzy enough and so it all feels a bit flat, making everything far too thick and cloying.
What a pity, as this ought to be brilliant.
