Outlander is a Pale Ale brewed with rye, and it’s an absolute treat of a beer.
It pours a rich amber with a fuzzy little head and a smell full of peach compote and lemon curd, round and fruity, soft and creamy.
From the very first mouthful you realise that this is a really special little beer that packs masses of good things into its skinny little 4% body, like a dry crisp hopping that’s sharp and brittle with steely herbal leaves, zingy with lemon zest and sticky with orange marmalade, and a malt base that gives you a soft brioche and toffee body made rich and meaty, earthy and dense by that lovely rye.
And with a finish that is teeth curlingly dry and bitter, I absolutely love Outlander.
