The third version of Wild Weather’s Imperial IPA is an absolute dream, leaving me wondering if there’s any point in them doing a Fourth Verse.
It’s a beer that pours a rich peachy gold and smells of foam shrimp sweets pumped full of rum, the kind of sweets you’d have begged for on your way home from school, a beer that gives you brandy snaps and thick creamy caramel, vanilla ice cream and those Belgian waffle cones you thought were very posh once upon a time.
It’s also a beer that’s not afraid to whip you with woody tobacco and pithy woodland sapling switches, a beer that’s happy to serve you up sticky orange marmalade and eye wateringly Singh lemon zest.
And all the way through there’s a hefty kick of rich round bourbon booziness warming your chest and crossing your eyes.
Yes, this is superb.
