This, Crafty Devil’s rebrewed Red IPA, is a very malty Brew, pouring a good conker red it smells of toffee biscuits and honeysuckle.
Those toffee biscuits sit front and centre when you take a swig as well, rich and sweet and chewy, they’re edged with tamarind, sticky honey and brown bread.
The hops add a sharp bitterness, some herbal undergrowth and a splash of bright lemon zest, and they also create a good dry bitterness in the finish.
But ultimately this is a malty beer, nutty and brown and chewy, a hop charged Bitter if you will.
