Mad Squirrel Brewing Co. High Score (4.8%)

I’ve not always been keen on India Pale Lagers as quite often they end up missing the point and, more importantly, the flavours and feel that Lagering achieves.
Those hefty quantities of hops wiping out any trace of the soft, subtle and rather sexy malts that make for that creamy sweet lager taste.
But there’s none of those mistakes here.
High Score manages to hit you with a fresh and zingy face full of lemon and passion fruit hops, bold and bright and packed with fun, while maintaining a delightfully soft caramel, waffle and runny honey heart.
This is very good indeed.
