Yet another super little IPA in Salopian’s Black Label Series, I can’t find information anywhere on what hops have been used or what the malt bill is, but with a trace of aniseed and lots of pithy hazel leaves and woody tobacco coupled with a singeingly sharp twist of bitter lemon I’d guess there are some British hops at play here.
The malting is soft and squidgy, toffee and caramel, biscuits and doughnuts, some honey and a crunchy shortcake, giving the beer a round and chewy backbone that holds its own against the bright hoppy onslaught.
Lovely stuff.
