I really wanted this to be good for no other reason than it shares a name with a Llama Farmers album that reminds me of my time in London working with Beggars Banquet and Nation Records.
Sadly there’s a rather unpleasant butterscotch Diacetyl thing going on.
And that’s a shame because when you search behind it you find a warm boozy toffee and shortcake malt and some sharp lemon and lime herbal hops.
Mind you, the addition of mango, passion fruit and guava doesn’t help here at all, instead of adding a fresh fruitiness they make the beer feel even heavier and rather sweet and cloying.
And then that slick and oily butteriness kicks back in.
Sadly I had to pour this away.
But I’m not going to miss the excuse to post a Llama Farmers song.
