Wander Beyond Brewing Bloom (11%)

Supposedly this is an Imperial Black Ice Cream IPA brewed with chocolate and strawberries.
Yes, you read that right.
What this is, in fact, is abso-bloody-lutely mental.
And brilliant.
But mainly mental.
If there are enough hops in this to make it an IPA then they’re completely overshadowed by the hefty and very sexy malt bill thats heaped with brown sugar and bran flakes, bagels and burned toast, honey drenched almond croissants and ice cream cones, and the thick melted chocolate and deep rich vanilla of the lactose, not to mention the delicately fruity strawberries that peep out at the back of the brew.
The big boozy hit of the alcohol makes everything feel round and chewy and satisfyingly drunken, this is more like a dangerously decadent ice cream Sundae than an Imperial IPA with added bits, and it’s all the better for thinking of it like that.
Wander Beyond are doing some astonishing things at the minute and you really don’t want to miss out.
