Wander Beyond Brewing Coconut Crater (12%)

I must warn you now that I’ll try not to swear during this review, but it’s going to be difficult as this beer is so good it makes me wonder what the flip everyone else is trying to do.
Coconut Crater is a coconut, cocoa and vanilla milk stout and it’s absolutely astonishing.
In fact it’s a bit mental.
The coconut is front and centre, something that doesn’t often happen in a coconut beer, it’s meat and fresh, creamy and smooth and it’s pushed along by a massive vanilla ice cream hit while the cocoa brings powdery chocolate to the mix.
The malting is deep and thick with toffee muffins, honey brioche and sweet sticky caramel, and there’s a much needed slap of crunchy autumnal leaf litter and hedgerow spiciness from the hopping.
The finish is heavy with a rich brandy booziness that makes the beer feel deep and heavy and satisfyingly drunken.
Wander Beyond continue to impress and I feel the need to have a chat with them.
