Daylight Fading is a “Tropical Stout”, a Stout with lots of hoppy goodness, or in other words, rather like a Black IPA.
The beer pours an inky black with a little creamy head and smells of boozy chocolate coated cherries, warm and fruity and inviting.
There’s a great big malt heart in here as well, all toffee and shortcrust pastry, coffee, carame, and honey, it’s big and chewy and satisfying.
And then there’s a great big hoppy slap, orange marmalade, lime zest and sherbet lemons, not to mention an unholy steely herbal bitterness that adds a super dryness to the finish.
Very good but Black IPA in my opinion.
