Garage Brewing Co. Apricots (7.5%)

It’s an odd thing, I don’t like apricots.
Never have.
But I like the apricot flavours that are sometimes to be found in a nice bright Pale Ale or IPA.
And so to be presented with a beautifully dressed and very well made IPA that includes apricots in the recipe is something I’m very happy about.
There’s not too much apricot in the aroma, it’s more about the pineapple and lime of the hops, but taking a swig you find that jumping out from the soft round caramel, honeycomb, doughnut and bagel of the malts, and the sharp as you like fresh green herbal leaves and sherbet lemon, marmalade and passion fruit of the hops, there’s a dry and fleshy apricot flavour that adds a big blast of bright fruitiness to the long bitter finish.
I still don’t like apricots though.
