Siren Craft Brew Brut Romance (6%)

Lightly carbonated fruity water with a hint of damp dish cloth in the background.
The beer looks attractive, all pink in my glass with the merest trace of a head, but the smell is a slightly off strawberry sorbet that doesn’t promise anything pleasant.
And taking a swig I can’t find anything very pleasant to write about.
There’s a flimsy caramel biscuit malt, thin and watery and lifeless, and limp damp hops that, coupled with the hit of earthy yeast, makes the beer taste off.
As for the strawberries, other than a gentle acrid fruitiness and the nice colour, they don’t add anything much worth mentioning.
In fact this beer smacks of a brewery trying too hard.
I poured it away.
