This is my first experience of Glasgow’s Overtone Brewing Co., and I immediately want to try more.
This dry hopped Milk Stout is a big and boozy chocolate kiss.
It’s rich and round and creamy, pouring an inky black with a fuzzy little head, the smell is walnuts and chocolate ice cream.
The body of the beer is all burned toast, treacle tart and coffee, it’s dark and woody and sweet, and it’s made thick and smooth by the lactose, while the hops give a pleasing hint of orange marmalade and green herbal foliage, adding a little sharpness to the big sweet pudding of the finish.
