Wylam Brewery Verdieping Nil (8%)

Another day another cloudy Double IPA.
This one has been brewed in collaboration with Verdant and it’s a lovely example of the style with its creamy golden body and fresh fruit salad aroma leading you down into its deep murky depths.
There’s a soft caramel ice cream cone, honey and fondant doughnut malt body and a fruity earthy gig from the yeast.
The hops, which are very modern indeed – Citra leaf and BBC, Amarillo Cryo and Azacca T90 – bring big washes of lemon sorbet, lime zest, melon and mango, juniper and hazel, all driven along by the crisp clear hit of white rum alcohol in the finish.
