Overtone’s Brut IPA is absolutely super.
From its big fluffy head and mouth wateringly zingy lime and bread dough aroma to the way the beer fizzes with life as it sits in my glass.
The use of Pilsner malt as a base makes for a super soft and light spun sugar and puff pastry body that gives just enough brown sugar sweetness to hold the beer up.
The hops are Nelson Sauvin and Columbus bringing a clean pithy gooseberry and green grape, melon, grapefruit and lemon zest zing while the mix of two yeasts – Champagne and California Ale – make for a finish that’s tongue tinglingly dry yet smooth and satisfying.
Lovely stuff.
