Neptune Brewery On The Bounty (5.8%)

I guess it’s kind of obvious, but I love that the name of this beer reflects the chocolate bar that it tastes like.
On The Bounty is a Chocolate and Coconut Stout that pours a deep mahogany brown with a little cappuccino head and smells of chocolate and brown sugar.
The malts are heavy and thick with sticky treacle tart and rich dark chocolate while the Sorachi Ace hops add a slap of fresh lemon zest, sherbet and green herbal foliage, bringing some much needed brightness to this dense dark beer.
And over all this the cocoa nibs and coconut essence build into a stickily sweet yet satisfyingly rich chocolate bar of a finish.
Super stuff.
