Verdant Brewing Co. People Do Odd Things (8%)

Yet another brilliant Double IPA from the Verdant gang, banging out beer in deepest darkest Cornwall and serving super seafood in their little restaurant in Falmouth, just over the road from what was for a while my local pub.
People Do Odd Things is thick and rind and chewy, packed with fruity goodness, all apricots and peach flesh, a lemon sherbet fizz swishes around, sparking off the pithy dryness of the metallic garden foliage.
Then there’s the gloopy bran flakes and shortcake sweet saltiness of the malt body and the extra hit of lightly spiced bread dough from the yeast.
And then, right in the finish, you find a crystal clear clean alcohol warmth that makes the beer end with a big bright slap of freshness.
