Marginal Grains is an American style Wheat beer brewed with fennel, mugwort and yarrow.
It’s a floral, herbal beer brewed in collaboration with Broaden & Build of Copenhagen.
There’s an absolutely lovely soft aniseed and dewy meadow aroma, bursting with life and freshness and taking a mouthful you find that the aniseed continues, gently, subtly, but definitely there, while the soft creamy malt body brings vanilla ice cream an shortcake biscuits.
There’s a pleasantly gentle lemon curd tang from the hops and just a hint of earthy yeast, but it’s the beautifully balanced use of herbs that make this a beer I’d happily drink over and over again.
This is the best Siren beer I’ve had for a very long time.
