As you are probably aware, I’m not a big fan of modern sours anymore.
Gone right off them.
But this, this is really very good.
And, as with the few other beers of this style that I’ve enjoyed over the last twelve months or so, it is because it is far more tart than sour.
There’s a clean and smooth caramel and honey doughnut body from the malts and a swish of fresh herbal greenery from the hops.
And then there is a splash of juicy colour from the grapefruit.
It’s sharp and crisp and zesty and it is made warm and spicy by the ginger that joins it in the long dry finish.
