Anarchy Brew Co. Imenso (11%)

Before I start on the beer, can I just say that I love this little 250ml can.
It’s silly but rather sexy.
So, the beer then.
Imenso is a good name for a great big beer in a tiny little can.
Everything about it is slightly silly, something I hope Anarchy were after.
An 11% Stout brewed with Liquorice Root, Cinnamon and Amburana Wood, the beer pours a sticky tar back with a little cappuccino head and smells of coffee, fresh raspberries, and those chocolate lime sweets that only your grandparents ever seemed to buy.
The Mosaic hops add a little fresh citrus zing and some herbal greenery, adding a much needed splash of bright colour to a beer that is heavy with chocolate and black coffee, treacle tart and Hot Cross buns, all soaked in coconut milk.
The addition of liquorice root makes the beer feel round and earthy, while the hefty hit fo booze leaves you with a chest warming rum and raisin finish.
