Burning Sky’s take on a West Coast Pale Ale is absolutely brilliant.
It does all the things that you would want from this style of beer, and it does it superbly.
There’s a soft and chewy vanilla and caramel fudge malt body, some honey and bread crusts around the edges, along with a hint of saltiness from the yeast as well as a delightful garden flower bouquet when you pour.
And then there’s the hops.
Cascade, Chinook, Simcoe and Centennial provide woody tobacco, zingy lemon sherbet, and a long dry herbal pithiness that leaves you with puckered lips and a deliciously curled tongue.
