This Kveik Farmhouse Ale has been brewed with Lemon Verbena, honey and rice, along with US and Antipodean hop varieties, and all this makes for a terrific beer.
There’s a lovely warm and damp woodland fungal funk rumbling away under the body of this beer, a body that brings caramel and toffee, brown bread and shortcake, while the honey adds a sticky richness and the hops bring gooseberry and orange peel, lemongrass, herbs and mown lawns.
The Lemon Verbena kicks the citrus up a notch as you head towards the finish, making the beer long and exceptionally dry, pithy and bitter.
