Bad Seed Brewery Cake Hole (5.9%)

Cake Hole is an absolute delight.
It’s a Dessert Stout brewed with Maple Syrup, Cacao Nibs and Salt, a beer to dive into and float about in, a beer to get undressed and comfortable with.
It’s a sexy beer.
This is why.
It pours a deep dark chestnut brown with a little cappuccino head and smells of chocolate coated dried red fruits.
Taking a swig you find treacle tart and molasses richness, pancakes and waffles doused in lashings of sweet and sticky Maple Syrup, then the Cacao’s drinking chocolate warmth rushes in all dark and dreamy, while the salt prickles away at the edges of the beer, adding a dry slap that stops the beer from becoming overly sugary.
Cake Hole is terrific.
Cake Hole is also the name of one of my very favourite songs.
