This, ladies and gentlemen, is absolutely lovely.
Salvation, “A Ginger Cake Stout”, is a super dry Stout, a Stout brewed with ginger.
It’s one of those Stouts that hits you with chocolate powder and black coffee, sticky treacle tart and rum Baba.
It has a big round and boozy Brandy heart, some green and pithy foliage from its hops and a lick of sweet brown sugar syrup.
But mainly this beer tastes like drinking a liquid Jamaica Ginger Cake, soft and squidgy, warm and satisfying, with a little spiky ginger heat in the finish.
For Christmas I’d like a Keg of this and a straw.
