This Double IPA brewed with fresh CY2020 Nelson Sauvin hops from Clayton’s of New Zealand is an absolute beauty.
But then Nelson Sauvin is such a giving hop.
But let’s start at the beginning.
The beer pours a pale gold with a fluffy little head and an aroma full of Honeydew Melon and Honeysuckle.
In fact honey plays a big part in this beer.
Following the aroma, as you take a sip, you find a honey, wafer and pancake malt, it’s light, sweet and sticky, making for a solid body.
But then those hops bring gala melon, gooseberry skins, green grapes, fresh herbal leaves and a hint of spring onion, they’re pushed along by a crisp and clean white rum booziness that brings out the sharp lemon zest of the deliciously fruity finish.
