Thornbridge Brewery Hordaland (6%)

Hordaland is Thornbridge’s Kveik IPA, a style that absolutely everyone feels the need to do at the moment.
I don’t blame them, as if you get the balance right the yeast strain adds a very enjoyable extra layer of of earthy, peachy goodness and a little tart edge.
And Thornbridge do have the balance right, with its soft brown sugar syrup and wafer malt body and the smack of citrusy hops full of herbal greenery and lemon zest creating a solid IPA that is gently enhanced by that farmyard fruitiness from the Kveik, not quite as bold as the hit that Belgian yeast strains give, this beer showcases Kveik very nicely.
