Turning Point Brew Co. Heavy Dreams (11%)

Heavy Dreams is an English style Barley Wine hopped with Godiva, First Gold and Bullion.
It pours a delicious conker red and smells of toffee apples and autumnal evenings, the malting is big and round and rich, all toffee apples and flaky pastry, apple tart and brandy butter.
The hopping brings liquorice root, damp herbal hedgerow greenery, nettle tea and a slap of lemon zest, while a deliciously dangerous apple brandy booze amplifies the beer, making it feel at once sexily boozy and drunkenly dangerous.
This is more superb brewing from my friends at Turning Point.
