Dog’s Window Brewery Rescue (5.2%)

Dog’s Window may have just made my beer of the year.
Everything about this is superb.
Rescue is a Raspberry Pale Ale, and a very good one at that, brewed in collaboration with Pop’n’Hops in Cardiff.
There’s a terrific light and caramel drenched, shortcake biscuit malt, that provides a little brown sugar sweetness and lots of crunchy cereal bars.
The hops – Huell Melon and Enigma – provide lashings of lime zest and Gala melon,
Lemon curd and green herbal foliage, and all of this would make for super pale
ale in itself, but the addition of aRaspberry extract raises this beer up to something very special.
The raspberries offer themselves in the aroma, and by the finish they kiss to with sticky jammy fruity lips followed by a long fleshy dry finish.
