Polly’s Brew Co. Finding Dark Magic (7%)

This Export Stout is proof of the quality of Polly’s brewing.
That might sound harsh, but they do so many pale beers and IPA’s that are good but all taste more than vaguely similar, that when Polly’s brew something dark it really stands out.
Dry as a bone and heavy with black coffee, bitter dark chocolate, sticky sweet treacle tart, tamarind and puff pastry, this is a super Export Stout.
There’s also some rum and raisin, aniseed and just a hint of patchouli oil to leave you with a finish that’s floral and fragrant.
In fact there’s enough patchouli oil to make me want to don a denim jacket and stick on some heavy metal while I enjoy the rest of this can.
Cheers.
