A hazy Pale Ale with Amarillo and Simcoe hops, this is actually one of my favourite beers of 2022.
On the surface it sounds like just another Pale Ale, but the difference here is the balance, the quality, the sexiness of what it does.
From the Redwood resin and pencil shavings of the aroma to the sharp and dry, fruity bitter finish, Joosy does absolutely everything right.
The malting is round and chewy, but not heavy at all.
Toffee and filo pastry, sugared ring doughnuts and honey make for a solid and satisfying body, while the hops are big and bold and bright, woody tobacco, fresh green herbal leaves, mango squidginess and the tingle of orange rind pops and fizzes on your tongue.
Joosy is as good a beer as you could wish for.
